W4261 Introduction to Cryptography: Problem Sets

Lateness and Collaboration Policy:
There will be around 7 problem sets, counting for 50% of the grade. Typically, between one and two weeks will be given for each problem set. You are advised to begin early. The problem set will usually be due at the beginning of class, in paper or electronic form (pdf by email, single file with filename including uni and problem set number). Email is encouraged, and latex is highly recommended, but not required. Legibility is mandatory for hand-written assignments, incomprehensible solutions will not be given leeway.

You are allowed 6 late days for the semester, of which at most 2 late days may be used for any single problem set. Late days are counted in increments of 24 hours (for example, 10 minutes late is considered as 1 day late). You may submit late homeworks electronically or in person to the instructor or one of the TAs, or leave the homework in the instructor's mailbox and send an email. If you do not submit in person, we will send you an ack upon receipt of your email.

You may consult outside references when doing the homework, as long as these sources are properly referenced, you write up the solution yourself in your own words, and you understand the answer. Collaboration is allowed for groups of at most 3 students, under the following conditions:

Cheating will not be tolerated. All students are presumed to be aware of the departmental policy regarding academic honesty.
