About Me

I am a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at Columbia University since January 2007. I am associated with the Languages and Compilers Group. My advisor is Prof. Stephen Edwards.

I received my Bachelors in Computer Science from RV College of Engineering (VTU), Bangalore in the year 2005. I obtained my Masters degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in February 2008.

I worked for about a year at Yahoo Research and Development Centre (Bangalore) in 2005. I was a Research Intern at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center (New York), Microsoft Research (UK) and Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) during the summers of 2008, 2007 and 2005 respectively.

I am interning at Bell Labs this summer.

Research

My research interests lie in programming principles, distributed/multicore systems and concurrent models.
I am looking at code generation and analysis techniques for deterministic concurrent languages. I am currently working on the SHIM programming language.
