To me Jack was a very
special person. Not only was Jack a wonderful boss who always made
me feel comfortable, but he was also a mentor and my best friend.
One of Jack’s best characteristics was his wonderful yet almost
child-like sense of humor. What amazed me so much about Jack was
that although he often had aches and pains in his body, he never
let it affect his overall wonderful attitude. Jack was the kind
of person who would always keep you smiling and laughing. I remember,
we often go to places such as Venice beach. Just one day at the
beach with Jack and one can easily see just what a wonderful person
he was. For example, he would joke around, often urging me to get
a tattoo, or he would joke about he getting his ears pierced.
As well as being an extremely funny person, Jack was also a very
warm and caring man. Not only was he kind to me, but he was kind
to everyone around him. I remember one time when, one of the Lincare
employees came to deliver oxygen tanks to Jack apartment. Not only
would Jack offer the man a drink and cookies, but he would also
treat a person as if they were great friends. As the man was leaving
I remember that he had tears in his eyes and he told me that Jack
had given him some advice that really helped him.
As I said before Jack was my best friend. He would always tell me
to be careful and to drive safely. I was always happy to work for
Jack. Although my job was to help Jack, he also helped me. Jack
always made me feel as if I was the queen of the world. He made
me feel important and loved.
I am grateful in having met Jack and I will truly miss him. I will
miss his joy, his sense of humor, his compassion, and most of all
his friendship. I love Jack and I will always remember and honor
him.
