Short biography

Marcio Buss received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Maria, and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from UNICAMP, both in Brazil. He also holds a M.Phil. degree in Computer Science from Columbia University, where he is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the same field. Marcio spent the summers of 2004 and 2005 as an intern at Bell Laboratories Research, Lucent Technologies. In December of 2005, he won the "Extraordinary Teaching Assistant Award" from Columbia's School of Engineering and Applied Science. He was also a co-op student at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY, in 2006 and 2007.
