Class Announcement [1] (June 1, 10AM) Hello everyone! Welcome to Computer Networks (COMS W4119). My name is Hoon Chang and I'm your course manager for COMS W4119, which you are taking through CVN this summer. I hope you really enjoy the course and learn a lot from it. There are a number of announcements I'd like to make. 1) My office hours for CVN students will usually take place on Wednesdays between 10am and 11am. My telephone number is 212 939 7020. 2) You should feel free to email me with any questions you have regarding the administration of the course. For questions relating to course material, again feel free to email me. Since I like to stay in Butler library (one of the most beautiful libraries in the world) instead of my office, the best way to reach me is email. If you email me, I promise I will answer it within 24 hours. 3) With regards to assignments, they are for you to solve! I will give some hints to the entire class but generally I will not give hints to individuals, other than maybe to clarify an issue. 4) Obviously, you should ignore any non-course related material on the tapes: for example when professor Misra discuss exam dates, assignment due dates etc. since they obviously pertain to last semester's version of the course. Anything related to exams and assignments will be posted on the class website and emailed to you. 5) I expect two exams, four written assignments and two small programming projects during this summer. No LAB assignment is expected. And also, CUNIX accounts may not be required; you could do your homeworks in any UNIX environment. 6) Again, whenever you have questions and suggestion about the course, please email me anytime. |
