Introduction to Information Retrieval

This is the companion website for the following book.

Christopher D. Manning, Prabhakar Raghavan and Hinrich Schütze, Introduction to Information Retrieval, Cambridge University Press. 2008.

The book is based on a course we have been teaching in various forms at Stanford University and at the University of Stuttgart. The latest incarnations are here and here.

Downloads

Book. A preliminary version of the book is available for download. We are currently revising individual chapters and will update this site frequently. The book will remain online after its publication by Cambridge UP in 2008.

Slides. Some ppt slide sets are seriously out of sync with the corresponding chapters. Use at your own risk. The latex slides are up to date, but in a state of transition from ppt to tex.

Problem sets. A set of problem sets with solutions is available to instructors from first-name-of-third-author@hotmail.com.
